What a glorious weekend!

This past weekend is the best Resurrection Sunday weekend that I can remember for a long time.   We had plans with friends and family, which I was really looking forward to, but on Saturday morning our youngest woke up with a cough.   I wasn’t too worried about it, because I figured it was just allergies, then  a little later in the morning, right before lunch, I noticed she looked a little flushed, so I checked her temperature….yep, low grade fever!  So, I cancelled our plans with our friends and family for the weekend.   We still did everything we had planned, but just with our little family instead of with friends and family.   On Saturday, the WHOLE family colored eggs (the past couple of years, if the kids didn’t want to color eggs, they didn’t have to….this year, we all did it 🙂 )

And on Saturday night we had a wonderful family dinner of BBQ….smoked pork, baked beans, cole slaw…YUM!  And we watched hockey 🙂  Even though the Sharks lost, and most of us went to bed before the game was over, it was great! 🙂

Sunday morning we got up, and I finished making the treats that were going to church

and finished the special homemade candies that I made for the kids….

My precious family (minus r and I) got all dressed up for church (our youth pastor asked the kids to please dress up for church, and D couldn’t let his kids be all dressed up and him not be, so he also wore a tie to church :)) (Sadly, I didn’t get any pictures of everyone all dressed up 😦 ) and went off to church.  r and I  finished getting things ready here…. when the family got home we had lunch (ham and creamy potatoes), and dessert (I only got pictures of one of them, didn’t get the chocolate layered dessert)

After dessert, D went out and hid the eggs for an egg hunt for the kids (again, something we haven’t done in a long time….at least 3 or so years)….all 4 kids got into it 🙂

and then the “food coma” set in, and 4/6 of us took naps.  🙂   It was so glorious!!!    What a special day it was 🙂
