Feeling a burden to pray…..

This morning (like all mornings) I was listening to a local talk radio station for news, weather, etc, etc.   They were reporting that Britney (Spears) was admitted to UCLA Medical Center around 1 AM this morning.    At first I had a callous “again?” attitude, but then God prompted me to begin to pray for her.   Not only did I just send up my usual “be with Britney” type prayer…..God wanted me on my knees intercessing for this young lady at my Saviour’s feet!   I’ve never gone to my knees like that for someone in the media spotlight before…..what a humbling experience, but this post really isn’t about me……we need to be praying for these young people that have grown up in front of the camera and now their lives are falling apart!   Look at Britney Spears, in the past 4-5 years, she’s gotten married, annulled, gotten married, had 2 babies, divorced, been in and out of hospitals, rehab centers, been on numerous (reported) drinking and drug binges, etc. ….that is so sad!   I feel a real burden to pray for her, I know the Lord that can save her from the environment that she lives in!   And He is a mighty God that can lift her right out of the lifestyle that she is living in.  He’s done it for countless people before, and will continue until our Saviour comes back.

It’s very sad to see a young girl so lost and I just wish that she would find her way through all this.

I’ll be praying for her too.

  2. I pray for her too Lori.
I feel so sorry for her.
My heart just goes out to her.

It’s such a sad situation…don’t know how she got so far gone. She really does need people praying for her and I hope she gets help. She grew up several hours south of where I live…home just across the river in LA I think but went to school in MS. When she was younger she went to a church in MS where a friend of ours had pastored, it seems like she should have known better but you never know what is going on.

It is so sad to see someone who has everything money can buy but to have no happiness, no real joy or peace. I’ll keep her and her family in my prayers.

interesting…i have had the same thoughts about her and offered up some ‘minimal’ prayers. perhaps i should be listening to the Holy Spirit a bit more on how to pray here.
