Well, not really! Summer here in Central California is really fairly miserable (well, at least it is for me :)). Our temperatures have been fairly decent lately, but this weekend the temps are supposed to be in the 90s. I am SO not looking forward to that! We are planning on going to a Farm Fest on Saturday and it is all outdoors. Maybe we’ll go early, and come home early and stay in for the hot part of the day. I really am looking forward to the Farm Fest, but I am really NOT looking forward to the heat.
I’m thinking that taco salad may be a good dinner for that night…nice and cool 🙂 And I can use my wonderful fresh greens from the Farmer’s Market from that morning.
I can really tell that Spring is here in our homeschool. We are all having problems staying focused! This is the time of year that I stop looking to see how much curriculum is left and start looking at the calendar to see how many days we have completed (the recommend days of attendance in CA is 175-180)….I know, BAD BAD BAD. Does anyone else suffer with this as well? Please tell me I’m not the only home educating teacher that has spring fever! Our school year will end May 25 this year…. please pray that we are able to stay focused! 🙂
One more thing, and then I’m going to go sit and watch a hockey game (it IS NHL Stanley Cup Play-off time, and there is almost always hockey on in our house this time of year….but especially this year, as the San Jose Sharks are hopefuls for the Cup finals….GO SHARKS!!!!!) with my honey. I rejoined Weight Watchers Online almost 2 weeks ago. I have lost 1.5 pounds since joining. For anyone interested in checking out WW Online, they have a special running right now where you can give it a try for 1 week completely free. If you want to check it out, go to http://www.weightwatchers.com/free The online version works better for me than going to meetings…first of all, I like the online version, but also I don’t like the idea of being weighed in in front of a bunch of people and haven’t been able to find a meeting that fits my schedule. WW works great for me as long as I am diligent in incorporating daily exercise as well as counting my points. The keys to my body losing weight is making sure I get my gallon of water in per day, as well as exercising 4-6 days a week. I will post more as I progress in my journey.
Well, I’m going to scoot now, tomorrow I will post some recipes of some of the very yummy things we’ve been eating this past few weeks!
