This morning the one verse that really struck me is a pretty simple and self explanatory verse, but it is what God put on my heart.
John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst”
During the holiday season many of our traditions revolve around food and drink, or at least involve food and drink. While our physical bodies have to have physical food and physical drink in order to sustain life, so too do our spiritual bodies need spiritual food and drink in order to sustain our spiritual lives. That sustenance comes from knowing and following and surrendering our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior that came to earth to die for our sins. Fully man and fully God, perfect man died for my sins and yours. And if you put your trust in Him, and fully surrender to Him, that “spiritual food” that is so necessary for our spiritual well being will be sustained.
