On Sunday during our Sunday school class as we were eating some of the yummy cookies that our teacher had brought in from the church kitchen one of the men asked if I would be willing to bake him some cookies and how much I charge. I haven’t baked for a while for any customers, and my heart got a little happy when he asked 🙂 D and M will see him tonight at the young men’s discipleship time at church, so I am baking today so that they can take his cookies to him. Well, we’ve been out of bread for a week, and I’m taking orders for some more baking later in the week (will post about that this evening) and wanted to “get back in the groove” so I made 3 loaves of my whole wheat bread, 1 batch of 8 whole wheat pita breads, 16 hamburger buns (they are half white, half whole wheat), and then the cookies that he ordered. Here are some pictures…..
I always breath a sigh of relief when the whole batch of pitas puff and make the pocket in the center 🙂
My unbaked hamburger buns…..
The baked whole wheat bread….you can’t really tell how gorgeously colored these are because of the lighting in my kitchen, but they are beautifully browned 🙂
And last but not least my little kitchen helper…..she loves to hang out with me in the kitchen when I’m cooking. If there is meat involved she will stay on alert to see if I will drop something for her, if it is baking she just lays there so that I have to step around her 🙂
