Menu plannning for week of 4/6/10

After a busy couple of weeks and eating whatever was on hand from the fridge/freezer/pantry, I’m ready to get back to menu planning.   Here’s the menu plan for this week.   This is loosely based on the “Spring” menu for week 1 in the “Saving Dinner: The Menus, Recipes, and Shopping Lists to Bring Your Family Back to the Table” by Leanne Ely.

  • Split pea soup (to use the hambone that my mother in law gave me after our Easter dinner–YAY!!!)
  • Cornbread
  • Green salad
  • Leftover pie

  • Chicken pasta with artichokes
  • Salad
  • Grilled asparagus


Thursday, April 8, 2010


  • Asian burritos with ginger salsa
  • Asian coleslaw
  • Fried rice


Friday, April 9, 2010


  • Shrimp & snow pea stirfry
  • Veggie lo mein
  • Green salad


Saturday, April 10, 2010


  • Don’s birthday dinner—out with Papa
  • Dessert here – lemon bars, mini-cheesecakes with strawberries, brownies


Sunday, April 11, 2010


  • Orange thyme crockpot chicken
  • Brown rice
  • Green beans
  • Green salad
