Once again, I pretty much followed the recipe (the only change I made this time was to leave out the water–I read Stephanie’s evaluation that there was a LOT of sauce, and knew that the steak would “release” some liquid into the sauce, so I made an executive decision to leave out the water, and am glad that I did!….more about that).
The overall evaluation of this recipe was that it was excellent, and everyone very much enjoyed it! I think that next time I will cut the steak into strips and use more veggies, and serve it over rice or noodles or potatoes. Tonight I served it by itself with corn on the cob (came in my CSA basket today and it was JUICY and SWEET!!!!!!!!! The way God intended 🙂 ), and a veggie saute of carrot slices, onion slices, yellow squash slices and orange cherry tomatoes……everything was delicious!
When asked if my family would want me to make it again, I got unanimous “YES’s” again. So this one will definitely be a make again! And it would be oh so very yummy over a big ol’ mound of mashed potatoes! 🙂 (or in my case, since I”m trying to get control of my portion sizes again, a nice controlled 1/2 cup “mound” of mashed potatoes 🙂 )
