Today’s Produce Basket…..3/31/08

Here’s what was in today’s basket from our CSA….it is OFFICIALLY springtime with the very first sugar snap peas!  YAY!!!!  (and yes, I actually did a happy dance at the farmer’s market on Saturday, my poor teenage daughter couldn’t have been more embarrassed! 🙂 )

(The eggs are available through my CSA, but the CSA delivery person is my “egg lady” and I didn’t get them from her on Saturday, so she delivered them with my basket today).

(And those aren’t blueberries in the clamshell container, they are my delicious, delectable, springtime delicacy….sugar snap peas!)

Here’s what I got today:

2 pkg. oyster mushrooms (not part of the regular basket, I special ordered those)

oranges

daikon radishes

asparagus

turnips

baby bok choy

sugar snap peas

avocados

murcott mandarins

lettuce

tomatoes

I posted the recipe to ‘Bubbly Haddock Bake’ a few weeks ago, I think it was in early Feb. We it once a month at least it is one of DH’s favs.

    Hi Lori,
I watched a show on Tv yesterday about CSA in Ca. It was so interesting. They showed the baskets being made up and all.

I finally joined a CSA myself. I love it. The produce is so much better than what we find in the supermarkets. I am thrilled! Thanks for the inspiration!
