This is a recipe that I made a lot when the kids were younger….and it freezes really well! So make a double batch and freeze half for another night!
Hamburger Noodle Bake
From Family Favorites Cookbook from California Home Economics Teachers
1 lb. hamburger
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
8oz. pkg. egg noodles
2-3 stalks green onions, chopped
1 30z pkg. cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Fry hamburger in frying pan, cooking until brown; drain off fat. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Cover and cook slowly for 15 minutes.
Cook noodles according to package directions, drain.
Chop green onions and mix with cream cheese, sour cream and milk. Place a layer of noodles, cream cheese mixture and then meat sauce in a baking dish. Repeat layers twice.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese, bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
