Weekend blessings….

This morning, one of the things that we did as a family was to go and visit a dear friends’ yard sale.   I had told the kiddos that we weren’t buying anything that wasn’t a super good deal….well, when we got there Mrs. L told us that our money was no good there 🙂    We did find a few treasures, but I think that THE TREASURE OF THE DAY was this….

 

Now there’s a story (of course there is, I always have a story, right?) that goes with this……several years ago I bought a manual pasta maker VERY similar to this and  only used it very very occasionally.   Not enough to warrant keeping it when we moved 3 years ago to our new house.   We got rid of EVERYTHING that hadn’t been used in a year or more…and my pasta maker qualified.   So, away it went!   Well in the past few months I’ve gotten a hankering to make pasta again and have found some incredibly delicious looking/sounding recipes but didn’t really feel like doing them by hand.   So, I’m looking around the tables at our friends’ yard sale today and see the familiar name of Imperia and the photo of the pasta maker.  My heart started racing, my hands got sweaty (well, not really, but you get the picture that I was excited) and I walked over and opened the box to see that yes, all of the pieces were present and it was indeed a pasta maker!   I took it to my friend Mrs. L and said “how much can I pay you for this?”  Her response was a giggle and a “your money is no good here”….. I am so excited!   I told her husband Mr. L that I’ll make pasta for him!  🙂    So, in the next few weeks, I’m going to have to have our dear friends over for a homemade pasta dinner 🙂
