Today in our home, Thursday, November 2, 2006

I haven’t written out the daily happenings of our home here on my blog for sometime now, but I want to get back to it, because it helps me with a certain level of accountability.   If my friends and family are reading what I’m SUPPOSED to be doing, it helps me to actually get it done 🙂

This morning, as I was writing the date on something I realized that one week from today is my son’s 11th birthday!   I can hardly believe that it has been almost 11 years since I had him!   It’s so funny because he is still such a little boy in so many ways (loves to play with his legos, build things, etc…..) but then I see the signs of a moustache, and he’s getting taller, and getting some muscle definition in his arms and chest, etc… I know that we are on the verge of puberty/manhood with this manchild of ours!   Scary! 🙂   For some reason, having girls going through puberty and becoming women isn’t nearly as scary for me as having a boy go through all of that and growing up…..I guess it’s because I’m not a boy and don’t really understand all those “boy things”….good thing I have an incredible hubby that is great with communicating with our manchild! 🙂    I need to plan something for M and his birthday…..just not quite sure what yet.   I know that he will want a pumpkin pie for his birthday…..this kid LOVES pumpkin pie! 🙂

Here’s what’s happening in our home today:

tidy living room and vacuum

school with kids

wash tablecloth and tablerunner and get it back on the table

wash sheets for our bed and get them back on the bed (I LOVE the sheets that we have on the bed currently, so I’m going to wash them and put them back on instead of simply changing them out)

2 other loads of laundry

plan meals for the next week and make grocery list

bible study homework

tidy their bedrooms (they’ve done an excellent job of keeping them clean this past week!….I think they deserve dessert tonight as a thank you from mom :))

clean their bathroom

play 🙂   and tonight we’ll continue our Mexican Train game tournament  while D’s at his rehearsal

What is Mexican train game tournament?

Mexican Train is a dominoes game. It is a game that can take a couple of hours to complete, so we usually break it down into shorter 30=45 minute increments and call it a tournament 🙂 It is a game that you keep score on, so it is easy to put it all away and then pick back up where you left off.

I do see a game of Mexican Train in our future for this evening providing everyone has all of their schoolwork and home blessings done by the time my husband gets home from work. 🙂

    Thank you for visiting!

    In Him,
